SEDRA Rattan Daybed Sofa

SEDRA is built around a simple problem: you want somewhere to lounge properly, not just sit upright. So the seat runs 90 cm deep — closer to a bed than a sofa — and carries a 12 cm mattress-style cushion in soft beige rather than the usual thin pad.

Slim rattan spindles run in a continuous rail around the back and both sides, low enough to lean against from any direction and open enough that the piece never blocks light or sightlines. Underneath, arched rattan loops carry the load across the full span and give the base its rhythm. Pushed against a wall it is a generous lounge sofa; pulled into a room it becomes an island you can lie on from either end.

It has become the piece clients buy for a guest room that also has to work as a study, and for the wide terrace wall where a standard sofa looks lost.
